1. I am absolutely in love with the_birdnest's More Than Our Abilities, a post-DH fic that chronicles Scorpius's first year at Hogwarts. I hardly ever read canon (unless you count H/D as canon, holla HBP!), let alone G-rated post-DH stuff, but this fic just seems so realistic and just so good I can't resist! I am dying to read the next chapter as soon as it is released.

2. Pride and Prejudice and Zombies is my reading material of the day, and while I quite enjoy hearing Elizabeth talk about ninjas, I'm finding myself far more excited about the actually Pride and Prejudice parts of the story! So, if you have never read the real Pride and Prejudice, I insist that you must (plus it's public domain, so free free free!)

I wrote an article for the Parabola.org website called Last Train to Narnia (I didn't title it) and would LOVE if you guys read it and told me what you thought :)

I haven't been posting Hobbit news like I used to, but I am kind of sad that there won't be any casting announcements at Comic-Con (they're handing over finished scripts in a few weeks.) This Elijah quote makes me happy, though:

“I definitely planning on visiting [set of THE HOBBIT]. Because there are so many people from LORD OF THE RINGS that are going to be a part of it,” Wood says. “While I am not a part of it, I will go down to see them. I’m so glad that Guillermo [del Toro] is doing it. He’s perfect. If it is not Pete, he should be the one.” (ToR)

Also...I am digging the new Who look. I'm looking forward to seeing how Mr. Smith does!

I'll post pics when I get more of an outfit together. But it makes me feel a little bit more complete in my soul ♥ I kind of want to join one of those HP sorting comms (like Hogwarts Elite or something along those lines) but I don't know where to go! Hmmm.

It is days like today that make me grateful that I no longer dream and lust for a gluttonously vapid career in film. I don't mind film overall, and still love watching movies (Coraline tonight!) but if I wasn't working for a documentary that is trying to make a difference I'd be quite miserable. However, the office gives me all the tea I could ever dream of (though I am much too prone to refilling my same old Devonshire breakfast tea all day long) and is certainly far from being a boring place.

I am almost done reading The Namesake by Jhumpa Lahiri which I absolutely adore. I HIGHLY recommend it. Next I'm going to read Le Tartuffe by Moliere (a bilingual version) which is probably going to remind me that I like French more than Italian and that I am being silly by continuing l'italiano quano io posso studiare il francese (l'italienne quand je peux etudier le francais!)

Also I totally didn't post about Half-Blood Prince! I really liked it, though I thought the ending was anti-climactic. Tom Felton & the Tom Riddles (new band name?!) stole the show. I thought the trio were great and the movie hilarious. Not sure if it's my favorite of the six (that position still probably belongs to Prisoner of Azkaban) but it's definitely up there. The direction was fantastic as well.

1. I have not yet seen the Torchwood mini-series SO PLEASE BY ALL THAT YOU HOLD DEAR ON THIS GOOD EARTH, DO NOT SPOIL ME.

2. Omfg I am getting so hyped for HBP! I dreamt about it last night, actually. Jack Nicholson was in it. It was very strange. I flipped on Sorcerer's Philosopher's Stone tonight on ABC and I can't believe how cute and precious they all used to be. Just soooo adorable!!! And now they're all big and grown up and far too attractive. Even DanRad the hobbit is a hottie (in a dorky way.) Also, I can't believe I saw DanRad naked in Equus. Wtf.

3. On the Harry Potter note, I want this Draco shirt so badly because seriously. You guys. How much is this like "I AM EMO DRACO AND MY DADDY HURT ME AS A CHILD" emo is this?! Draco and the dove. I love it.

4. I really need to reread Half-Blood Prince before the movie comes out. I'm finishing The Last Battle, the final book in the Chronicles of Narnia, tonight -- finally, I'm getting a bit sick of them! I've also read Farmer Giles of Ham and Smith of Wootton Major (both Tolkien) as well as Commencement, which takes place at Smith (!!), this summer. And then after HBP, on to Del Toro's book The Strain which my dad got out for me from the library. So much nerd, so little time!
